Different Postures Makes ‘Tremendous Impact' in How Fast Medicine is Absorbed

Study Summary

Researchers used a "StomachSim” to determine whether body posture had an impact on how quickly medicine was absorbed by the stomach showing that laying down on the right side absorbs up to 83% faster than standing, sitting, or laying on the left side. The assumption is that the shape of the stomach, being bigger on the right side of the body, makes a difference. This could be applied to food (nutrients), as well as patients being treated for psychiatric disorders and SUD.
